American singer Jason Derulo has shared personal reflections about his love life, admitting that he once imagined settling down much earlier than he has. 

Now at 37, the global music star says being single at this stage of his life was never part of his original plan.

Speaking during an interview with Graham Bensinger, Derulo revealed that his outlook on relationships has evolved over the years, largely influenced by his personal experiences and what he has witnessed around him.

 According to the singer, he had always believed that one of the many relationships he entered would eventually lead to marriage. However, reality has taken a different turn.

Derulo explained that his hesitation toward long-term commitment stems from the numerous relationship breakdowns he has seen, both within and outside his circle. 

He described moments where couples unexpectedly parted ways, even in public settings, leaving a lasting impression on him. 

These experiences, he noted, gradually shaped his mindset and made him more cautious about fully committing to marriage.

The singer’s own romantic history also reflects this journey. He was previously in a high-profile relationship with Jordin Sparks, with the pair dating for several years before eventually going their separate ways in 2014. 

More recently, he welcomed a son in 2021 with his former partner Jena Frumes. Despite the joy of becoming a father, their relationship ended just months after the birth of their child.

While Derulo did not rule out the possibility of marriage in the future, his comments suggest a more measured and realistic approach to love. 

Rather than rushing into a lifelong commitment, he appears focused on understanding relationships more deeply and avoiding the mistakes he has observed over time.

His openness offers a glimpse into the personal side of a global star often seen through the lens of fame and success. It also highlights a broader reality many people face balancing expectations of love and marriage with real-life experiences that can reshape those ideals.
