Afrobeats star Davido has announced plans to host his very first music festival, marking a major milestone in his career. Titled “Davido & Friends,” the event is scheduled to take place at the iconic Crystal Palace Bowl in London on Friday, August 14, 2026.

The singer shared the news with fans via his X account, expressing excitement about bringing the concept to life. “For the first time ever, I present to you… Davido & Friends Festival. It’s going down at Crystal Palace Bowl on August 14th,” he wrote, confirming both the launch and the date.

The upcoming festival is part of the wider “Palace Bowl Presents” summer programme, a series of outdoor events scheduled to run from July 31 through August 16, 2026. The initiative is known for hosting diverse performances across genres, and Davido’s curated show is expected to be one of the highlights of the lineup.

Unlike a typical concert, “Davido & Friends” is being positioned as a full-day festival experience. Davido will not only headline the event but also curate the lineup, bringing together a mix of collaborators and industry colleagues—though the full list of performers has not yet been disclosed. This element of surprise has already sparked excitement among fans, many of whom are speculating about which artists might share the stage with him.

The announcement follows a busy period for the award-winning singer, who spent much of 2025 on his 5IVE Tour. The tour supported his fifth studio album and saw him perform across several cities in Nigeria and beyond. From Akwa Ibom and Adamawa to Enugu, Ibadan, and Lagos, the tour reinforced his reputation as one of Afrobeats’ most energetic live performers.

Bringing that same energy to London, the festival is expected to showcase Davido’s extensive catalogue of hits, as well as collaborative performances that highlight his influence within the global music scene. Over the years, the singer has built a strong network of musical partnerships, both within Africa and internationally, making the “friends” aspect of the festival a key attraction.

Hosting the event at Crystal Palace Bowl further adds to its significance. The venue has long been associated with major live performances and cultural gatherings, making it a fitting location for Davido’s first foray into festival curation.

For fans in the UK and across Europe, the event presents an opportunity to experience Afrobeats on a larger, more immersive scale. It also reflects the genre’s continued expansion into global markets, with artists like Davido playing a central role in its international success.

While additional details such as ticket sales, supporting acts, and event structure are yet to be announced, anticipation is already building. Many expect the festival to draw a large crowd, given Davido’s popularity and the growing appetite for Afrobeats worldwide.

As August approaches, “Davido & Friends” is shaping up to be more than just a concert—it represents a new chapter in the singer’s career, one that positions him not only as a performer but also as a curator and cultural influencer on the global stage.
