Award-winning filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has openly expressed deep admiration for veteran actress Bimbo Akintola, revealing that her performances are so powerful they often make her reflect on her own craft.

Funke made this revelation during her Creative Blueprint 2.0 masterclass held in Lagos, where she spoke to aspiring creatives about her journey, challenges, and growth in the Nigerian film industry.

 While addressing participants, the actress highlighted the level of excellence that Bimbo Akintola consistently brings to her roles, describing her as the only actor whose work genuinely shakes her confidence in a positive way.

According to Funke, whenever she watches Bimbo perform, it pushes her to reassess her own abilities and strive for greater depth in her acting. 

She described Bimbo as an intensely talented performer whose emotional delivery and screen presence stand out in Nollywood. Her statement reflects not insecurity, but a deep respect for artistry and a desire to continuously improve.

Bimbo Akintola has been a prominent figure in Nollywood since the mid-1990s, earning widespread acclaim for her roles in films such as Owo Blow, Out of Bounds, Diamond Ring, 93 Days, and The Black Book.

 Over the years, she has built a reputation for delivering emotionally rich and authentic performances across both English and Yoruba productions, making her one of the most respected actresses in the industry.

On her part, Funke Akindele began her acting career in the late 1990s with the popular television series I Need to Know. 

She later rose to national fame with the hit movie Jenifa in 2008, which became a cultural phenomenon and solidified her place in Nollywood. 

Since then, she has gone on to produce and star in several blockbuster projects, including Omo Ghetto: The Saga, A Tribe Called Judah, and Behind The Scenes.
