The trial of Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, in a lawsuit over alleged assault and battery has been adjourned to April 8, 2026, by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Life Camp, Abuja.
The case, instituted by fellow musician Ogbogiri Okey Levi, professionally known as Kraziecent, could not proceed as scheduled due to ongoing renovation works at the courtroom. As a result, the court was unable to sit for hearings on the matter.
Despite the setback, both parties were present in court. Legal counsel to the claimant, Uchenna Ojembe, and counsel to the defendant, Taiwo Akinsulie, attended the session. Following discussions, both lawyers mutually agreed on a new date that would be convenient for all parties to commence the trial.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Kraziecent filed the civil suit following an alleged altercation at a public event in December 2024. According to court documents, the claimant accused Odumodublvck of physically attacking him without provocation.
Kraziecent alleged that he was calmly taking photos and recording videos of himself at the event when the rapper suddenly confronted and assaulted him. He claimed the incident left him emotionally traumatised and resulted in damage to his iPhone 15 Pro Max, which he said was deliberately destroyed during the altercation.
In his suit, Kraziecent is seeking several reliefs from the court, including compensation for medical expenses incurred while receiving treatment for injuries allegedly sustained during the incident.
Additionally, he is demanding the sum of N2 billion in damages, citing emotional distress, physical harm, and loss of personal property. He also requested that the court compel Odumodublvck to issue a public apology across all his social media platforms, as well as in two national newspapers, as part of the remedies sought.
The adjournment means the high-profile case will resume later in the year, when the court is expected to have completed its renovation works, allowing for proper hearing and presentation of evidence by both parties.
The outcome of the trial is being closely watched within the entertainment industry, as both musicians have sizeable followings and the case raises broader questions around artist conduct, accountability, and conflict resolution at public events.
