Billionaire investor Femi Otedola has commended industrialist Aliko Dangote for the massive expansion of the Dangote Refinery, describing the project as a global marvel.
Sharing his thoughts on X on Sunday, Otedola disclosed that he recently toured the facility, which he referred to as the “eighth wonder of the world.”
“Today 15 February 2026, I visited the Dangote Refinery, what I call the 8th wonder of the world,” he wrote.
He added that the ongoing expansion would dramatically raise the plant’s production output to 1.4 million barrels per day once completed.
“After successful completion of this expansion project, capacity will increase to 1.4m barrels per day … F.Ote 💲,” he stated.
The praise comes after earlier reports confirmed that the refinery had already reached its full nameplate capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, following major upgrades and optimisation of its crude distillation and fuel production units.
The Dangote Refinery is widely regarded as a landmark project expected to significantly transform Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, reduce fuel imports, and strengthen energy security across the region.
