Nigerian rapper and singer Vic O has sent shockwaves across social media after a video showed him in detention, visibly distressed and pleading for help.

The singer told fans he has been held since before Valentine’s Day in Calabar and is set to appear in court on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Although he did not disclose why he was arrested or any clue about it, leaving fans desperate for answers.

In the video caption, Vic O shared his bank account details, urging fans to assist him financially, saying plainly, “I cannot afford bail.” The clip instantly went viral, drawing both concern and humor. One fan jokingly referenced a past lyric from Vic O, saying, “If rapping were a crime, he should be jailed because he is not ready to stop making music.”

His situation echoes other recent incidents in the Nigerian music scene. Street-pop artist Portable was filmed in tears in detention weeks ago, while last year, Speed Darlington was detained following a defamation claim reportedly involving Burna Boy.

Fans are now rallying online, sharing the video and calling for urgent action, as Vic O’s heartfelt appeal continues to spark conversations about the challenges artists face behind the scenes.
