Actress Eniola Badmus has publicly expressed heartfelt appreciation to actor and producer Timini Egbuson as well as director Kayode Kasum following the premiere of their new film Love and New Notes

The film, which debuted in Lagos on Sunday, marks a significant moment in Badmus’ career as it signals her return to the big screen after a lengthy hiatus.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the actress shared photos from the glamorous premiere and used the opportunity to thank the key figures behind the project.

In her post, she specially acknowledged Timini Egbuson, Kayode Kasum and Muyiwa Banti for entrusting her with a role in the romantic drama.

“A very special thank you @_timini @kayodekasum @muyibanti Thank you for putting me on board and trusting me with such a beautiful and wonderful role. I truly loved every part of this journey, from start to finish,” she wrote.

Badmus also expressed hope that the film would enjoy commercial success at the box office. According to her, the recognition she received during the premiere was deeply meaningful and something she would always treasure.

“I pray this film breaks through at the cinemas and receives the appreciation it truly deserves. Being celebrated and given my flowers at the movie premiere meant so much to me… it was huge in my sight and something I will always cherish,” she added.

“Thank you for the honour, the love, and the recognition. It is truly deserving, and I am deeply grateful. Thank you so much.”

Love and New Notes is directed by Kayode Kasum and produced by Timini Egbuson. The romantic drama is set against the backdrop of Nigeria’s 1984 currency change, a historic period marked by economic uncertainty and social adjustments.

The storyline follows characters navigating love, difficult personal choices and survival during that era.

The project boasts an ensemble cast that includes Timini Egbuson, Odunlade Adekola, Sophie Alakija and Eniola Badmus.

With its mix of romance, history and drama, the film aims to offer audiences both entertainment and a nostalgic reflection on a defining moment in Nigeria’s past.

For Badmus, the role represents more than just another acting credit. It underscores her return to mainstream Nollywood productions after stepping away from the screen for some time.

Over the years, she has built a reputation for her versatility and strong screen presence, and fans have welcomed news of her comeback with enthusiasm.

The film is scheduled for nationwide cinema release on February 13. Industry observers will be watching closely to see how it performs at the box office, especially given the star power attached to the project and the growing appetite for locally produced romantic dramas with historical undertones.

As anticipation builds ahead of its official release, Badmus’ public show of gratitude highlights the collaborative spirit behind the production and the personal significance the project holds for her.
