The Nigerian digital space has been thrown into mourning following the death of Lucky Elohor, a popular content creator and founder of the GROW Network, who passed away at the age of 29.

Her death was officially announced on Tuesday through a statement shared on her verified Instagram page, sparking an outpouring of grief and tributes from followers, colleagues, and members of the professional community she mentored.

Widely known as Digital Creator Chic, Elohor rose to prominence through her impactful digital content and the establishment of GROW Network, an online platform committed to career development, mentorship, and professional growth. Through the initiative, she empowered and guided hundreds of young Nigerians, helping them navigate career paths, develop relevant skills, and achieve personal and professional success.

In a heartfelt statement accompanying her obituary, her family described her as a woman of purpose, grace, and service, while appealing for privacy during this difficult period.

“It is with profound sorrow that the family announces the passing of our beloved Lucky Elohor,” the statement read.

“Elohor was a light, full of purpose, grace, and an unwavering commitment to impacting lives. She built with intention, loved deeply, and served selflessly through her work, her community, and her faith.

“Though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted by the assurance that she has gone to be with the Lord, and that her legacy will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

“We ask for your prayers, love, and respect for the family during this time of mourning. Further details will be communicated in due course.”

Reports gathered revealed that Elohor died following injuries sustained in a road accident in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State. According to sources close to the family, the crash occurred after their vehicle hit a pothole, leading to a devastating chain of events.

A close friend of the deceased later shared a detailed and emotional account of what transpired, while lamenting the failures of emergency response services and the healthcare system in Nigeria.

In the viral post, the friend outlined multiple challenges faced while trying to secure urgent medical care for Elohor and others involved in the accident, highlighting systemic shortcomings that may have worsened the situation.

“1. Bad roads – pothole led to accident,” the post read.

“2. No emergency service – no one to move them quickly to hospital instead they are recording them.

“3. Hospitals on strike – Finally Good Samaritan comes lautech is on strike so they transport accident citizen to another city.

“4. Poorly equipped private hospitals – No MRI, no freaking functional MRI in the entire city of Ilorin. Nearest is Ogbomosho. My girl did’t make it back from that trip.

“It’s how you wake up and pray for a good life and there comes Nigeria with its own agenda.”

The post sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing anger, frustration, and sadness over the persistent issues of poor road infrastructure, lack of emergency medical services, industrial actions by healthcare workers, and inadequate medical facilities in several parts of the country.

Friends, mentees, and admirers of Elohor have continued to pay tribute to her, celebrating her passion for youth development, leadership, and positive influence. Many described her as a beacon of hope who consistently used her platform to uplift others and advocate for personal growth.

Through GROW Network, she built a community focused on mentorship, learning, and empowerment, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire countless young professionals.

As tributes pour in, her passing serves as a painful reminder of the fragile state of emergency healthcare services and road safety in Nigeria. While her family prepares to announce burial arrangements, many continue to honour her memory by sharing stories of her kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to service.
