Popular nightlife entrepreneur and social media influencer, Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has been appointed as the Imo State Director of the City Boy Movement (CBM), a youth-driven political group backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was made on Saturday via the official Instagram page of the City Boy Movement, where the group unveiled Cubana Chief Priest as its new state coordinator in Imo.

In a statement accompanying the post, CBM described the celebrity businessman as a strategic addition to its leadership structure, citing his influence, experience, and connection with young people as major assets to the movement.

According to the group, Cubana Chief Priest “brings experience, influence, and a people-centred approach to mobilising support” for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda across Imo State.

The statement read in part: “City Boy Movement appoints Pascal C. Okechukwu (Cubana Chief Priest), who stands as a symbol of dedication, strategic leadership, and unwavering commitment to the growth of the City Boy Movement.”

It further noted that, in his new role, the socialite is expected to play a key part in grassroots mobilisation, strengthen political structures at the state level, and drive youth participation in line with the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by the Tinubu administration.

“With a clear vision for progress and unity, Imo State remains firmly positioned for inclusive development, effective leadership, and sustained political engagement. Together, we move forward stronger, focused, and united,” the post added.

Cubana Chief Priest, who hails from Imo State, is best known for his prominence in Nigeria’s entertainment and hospitality industry.

Over the years, he has built a massive following on social media and carved a niche as one of the country’s most recognisable nightlife figures, often using his platform to comment on political and social issues.

His appointment comes amid renewed efforts by pro-Tinubu support groups to consolidate youth backing across key states as political activities gradually build towards the 2027 elections.

The City Boy Movement, in particular, has positioned itself as a grassroots-oriented organisation focused on engaging young Nigerians and promoting the policies of the current administration.

This is not the first time Cubana Chief Priest has publicly aligned himself with President Tinubu. In previous statements and social media posts, he has openly declared his support for the president and expressed confidence in the Renewed Hope agenda, describing it as a pathway to economic growth and national development.

The development has continued to generate reactions online, with supporters applauding the appointment while critics question the growing involvement of entertainers and social media influencers in partisan politics.

As political alignments take shape ahead of 2027, Cubana Chief Priest’s new role signals the increasing influence of celebrity figures in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
