Former Big Brother Naija reality star Pere Egbi has added his voice to the ongoing debate surrounding viral miracle healing videos by popular clergymen, as he shared a deeply personal testimony involving Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

A trending video of Pastor Chris has continued to generate intense conversations online after it showed the renowned cleric reportedly healing ten individuals simultaneously during a session of his Healing Streams Live Healing Service. While the clip has attracted skepticism from some quarters, it has also prompted testimonies from individuals who claim to have experienced healing through the pastor’s ministry.

Reacting to the viral footage on social media, Pere Egbi recounted an encounter he had with Pastor Chris several years ago while seeking healing for complications affecting his left hand following surgery. According to the former reality star, his experience remains one of the key reasons his faith in divine healing through the clergyman remains unshaken.

Pere revealed that he attended one of Pastor Chris’s programs at a time when the church was much smaller and before the establishment of the Healing School. He explained that the service, known as “Faith Clinic,” was held on a Monday, and he had joined a healing line in hopes of receiving divine intervention.

Sharing his account in detail, Pere said Pastor Chris approached him, held his affected hand, fixed his gaze on him, and declared healing. According to Pere, that single moment marked a turning point in his life, as the complications in his hand disappeared and never returned.

“I’m seeing the video of ten people getting up and walking after Pastor Chris told them to get up, and I’m also reading some strange comments about it.

I encountered him many years ago. I remember being on a healing line, seeking healing for my left hand, which had complications from surgery. At the time, there were still issues with the procedure.

He had not yet started the healing school then. It was a Monday, and the program was called “Faith Clinic.” The church was not nearly as large as it is now.

He walked up to me in that line, held my left hand, looked at me without blinking, and said, “Healed.”

Fast forward to today… years later… my left hand remains healed. I had shared this story before; those who follow me closely must’ve heard me say it. There are many reasons why I believe God heals through Pastor Chris. You cannot take that experience away from me. And he teaches the word. I do know what I know”.

While Pere’s testimony strengthened the faith of many supporters, others have continued to express doubt over miracle claims. Actress Jemima Osunde, reacting to the same clip on Twitter, admitted her confusion, drawing from her perspective as both a Christian and a trained physiotherapist.

In a related development, media personality Daddy Freeze has also questioned the credibility of miracle healings, particularly reacting to Pastor Jerry Eze’s alleged healing of a paralysed child at a UK event. Freeze pointed out that veteran gospel singer Yinka Ayefele has remained wheelchair-bound for years, questioning why such miracles seemingly occur abroad rather than closer to home.

This is not the first time Daddy Freeze has publicly challenged miraculous healing narratives, as he continues to advocate for scrutiny and accountability within religious spaces.

As debates rage on, Pere Egbi’s testimony highlights the deeply personal nature of faith—one that, for believers, remains beyond public doubt or online criticism.
