Nigeria’s digital entertainment space is booming, fueled by a new generation of social media streamers who attract massive audiences with live content, comedy, music, gaming, and interactive sessions.

These creators have turned social platforms into lucrative careers, building fanbases that stretch across Africa and beyond.

Here are five of the biggest names dominating the Nigerian streaming scene in 2025 and how many followers they command.

At the forefront of Nigeria’s social media streaming revolution is Carter Efe, a comedian, musician, and online personality whose recent Twitch growth has been nothing short of meteoric. In December 2025, Carter Efe became Africa’s most-followed streamer on Twitch, surpassing fellow Nigerian streamer Shank Comics after a record-breaking live session that featured Afrobeats superstar Davido. The high-profile livestream attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers and helped Efe’s follower count surge to over 400,000 on Twitch, a milestone that solidified his position as a major figure in African streaming.

His channel saw rapid growth in a short period, gaining roughly 160,000 followers in just a few days as excitement around the event spread online.

Another major figure in Nigeria’s streaming world is Peller, a TikTok star and streamer who has built an enormous following through energetic live broadcasts and engaging content.

On TikTok alone, Peller boasts about 13.9 million followers, one of the largest audiences in the country. He also maintains a strong presence on YouTube, with 355,000 subscribers tuning in to his videos and streams. Known for his humor and ability to captivate viewers, Peller’s influence extends far beyond just one platform.

Royalnasty is another Nigerian creator making waves, especially on TikTok and YouTube. With around 2 million TikTok followers and a growing YouTube audience of approximately 132,000 subscribers, he delivers content that blends comedy, pranks, and relatable everyday moments, appealing to a broad demographic of online viewers. His growth reflects the demand for fresh, humorous content among young Nigerians.

In the animation niche, Willy Kanga stands out with a strong social media presence across platforms. His animated videos have earned him about 1.5 million followers on TikTok and roughly 447,000 followers on Instagram, making him one of the most popular Nigerian digital storytellers and streamers. Kanga’s success highlights how diverse content formats  including animation  can thrive in the streaming landscape.

Finally, Shank Comics remains one of Nigeria’s most influential streamers, especially on Twitch and Instagram.

While precise follower counts vary across reports, Shank’s popularity is undeniable as he previously held the title of Africa’s most-followed Twitch streamer before being overtaken by Carter Efe. His content mixes comedy, music reaction streams, and interactive sessions that continue to draw sizeable audiences.

Together, these streamers represent the diversity and vibrancy of Nigeria’s digital entertainment ecosystem. From TikTok comedy and animated storytelling to live Twitch sessions featuring global stars, Nigerian creators are redefining how audiences engage with content online.

Their millions of followers and rapidly growing platforms show that the future of Africa’s streaming culture is not just about views, but genuine influence and community connection.
