Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly accused his father, Mr Olalomi, of taking his personal belongings and repeatedly exploiting him financially.

In an emotional outburst shared on social media, the Zazu crooner alleged that his father carted away his shoes, clothes, and other valuables without permission. The singer claimed the situation has left him deeply hurt and frustrated, prompting him to speak out publicly.

Portable went further to draw a disturbing comparison between his experience and that of late singer Mohbad, suggesting that his father has been overly interested in his property and possessions. According to him, his life was more peaceful and organised when his father was not actively involved in it.

Questioning his father’s relevance in his life, Portable accused him of failing to show support during critical moments, including his encounters with law enforcement. He also claimed his father never played a role in his education or personal development.

The singer alleged that when he expressed interest in learning tailoring as a skill, his father refused to assist or pay for the training, leaving him to struggle on his own.

Speaking during the rant, Portable said:

“Anytime I have a police case, my Dad will never show up for me. What is your importance in my life? You didn’t send me to school. You are just like Baba Mohbad; you are always wearing my shoes and clothes. You can never inherit me. I will not allow you to do to me what they did to Mohbad.”

Portable also accused his father of cheating him financially, particularly during a house construction project. According to the singer, he entrusted his father with handling the project but later discovered that he was being overcharged for building materials.

“When I wanted to build a house, and I told him to handle it, he was always cheating me. A block of N300,000, he will call it N900,000. Leave me alone and let me live my life. You scammed me,” he said.

This is not the first time Portable has publicly clashed with his father. In 2024, following the sealing of some of his properties by the Ogun State government, the singer accused his father of abandoning him during a difficult period. At the time, Portable claimed he had given his father money to manage issues related to his house projects, but alleged that the funds were not used to resolve his legal troubles.

According to Portable, his father failed to approach the police or intervene on his behalf, a situation he said worsened his problems. The singer openly described him as a bad father, insisting that despite consistently giving him money, he was repeatedly taken advantage of.

Ironically, the strained relationship contrasts sharply with moments when Portable had previously celebrated his father publicly. In one Instagram post, the singer shared rare photos and videos of his father, praising his sense of style and boldly claiming that he dressed better than disgraced socialite Hushpuppi.

At the time, Portable expressed gratitude to God for his family and even jokingly thanked God that his mother did not “rip” his father. The singer has also marked his father’s birthday in the past with affectionate messages, prayers, and photos, wishing him long life and divine blessings.

Portable, who is known for his outspoken and controversial personality, is currently expecting his seventh child and continues to make headlines for his turbulent personal life. His latest accusations have sparked mixed reactions online, with fans expressing concern over the public nature of the family dispute, while others urged reconciliation.

As of now, Mr Olalomi has not publicly responded to the allegations made by his son.
