Nigerian celebrities have ushered in the New Year with messages of gratitude, reflection and renewed determination, taking to social media to share glimpses of their celebrations and personal goals for 2026. From Nollywood stars to musicians and digital creators, many expressed appreciation to God for life while outlining their hopes and resolutions for the year ahead.
Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham was among those who shared an emotional appreciation post with her fans and supporters. In a message posted on Instagram, she thanked those who have consistently stood by her and supported her brand over the years. The actress also revealed her mindset for 2026, stressing focus, growth and strength.
“Happy New Year, my amazing family! Thank you for standing by me, riding with me, and supporting the Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi brand through it all. I’m deeply grateful, thank you, thank you, thank you! This year, it’s no distractions, just focus, growth, and more strength. Let’s go harder in 2026!” she wrote.
Actor Stanley Ajemba, popularly known as Stanley Ontop, also reflected on lessons learned in the outgoing year. Sharing his thoughts online, he hinted at personal growth shaped by experiences in 2025 and stated his resolve to do better in the new year.
“I learnt a lot in 2025. I won’t allow it happen again. Happy New Year family,” he wrote.
Afrobeats superstar Davido marked the New Year quietly but affectionately by posting a short video featuring his wife on his Instagram story. Accompanying the clip, he wrote, “THE BEST YEAR WITH MY LOVING WIFE @thechefchi,” celebrating love and gratitude as he stepped into 2026.
Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko also joined the celebrations with a video message expressing gratitude for life and survival. She reflected on how quickly time passed and thanked God for bringing her into the new year.
“Happy happy new year, yes we all made it to 2026. 2025 was just like yesterday and now, we’re in 2026. Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord. A lot of people couldn’t make it but we made it. It’s going to be our best year, Amen,” she said.
Veteran actress Ireti Doyle shared a brief but faith-filled message on her Instagram story, writing, “We move by faith and not by sight. 2026..? Leggooo!!!”
Actress Bimpe Oyebade also revealed her mindset for the year, stating that she is entering 2026 fully committed to God and personal boundaries. According to her, she is determined to cut off people who display entitlement.

Social media influencer and critic Isaac Fayose also joined the celebrations, posting a photo from Morocco with the caption, “Happy New Year!!! With love from Morocco.”
