Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker Muyiwa Ademola has taken a moment to reflect on his life journey as he marks his birthday in Canada, expressing deep gratitude to God for how far he has come.
The celebrated Yoruba actor shared a video clip from his time in Canada to commemorate his new age, using the opportunity to look back on his past and appreciate the transformation his life has undergone over the years. According to Ademola, his journey has been anything but easy, but divine grace has remained constant.
Looking back on his experiences, the actor said he is thankful to God for leading him through every phase of life and for bringing him to his current place of fulfillment.
“IT IS OFFICIALLY MY BIRTHDAY!
Looking back, I give thanks to The Almighty.
He has taken me through, and it’s been thorough!
I just need you to join me in saying thank you to The Almighty,” he wrote.
Muyiwa Ademola also spoke candidly about his background, noting that he did not grow up with privilege or comfort. However, he credited God for completely changing his story and blessing him beyond his expectations.
“I wasn’t born with a silver spoon, not even with a plastic one!. But God has changed my story, graced me with a golden spoon instead,” he added.
The actor described himself as someone who is still evolving, learning, and making progress in life and career. He emphasized that he has not become stagnant, but continues to move forward with purpose and gratitude.
“I’m grateful, I’m still eventful, I’m still learning, I’m still achieving, not static; still on the move. I’m blessed with a beautiful family, and, of course, you are part of it,” Ademola wrote, acknowledging both his immediate family and his loyal fans.
He concluded by appreciating the love he has consistently received over the years and invited everyone to celebrate with him.
“Thank you for the show of Love over the years.
E seun.
Please celebrate with me, cheers to my new age,” he said, noting that the video was filmed by @waka_canada.
Following his post, colleagues, friends, and fans flooded his comment section with warm birthday wishes. Actress Tawa Ajisefinni wrote, “Uncle mi, Happy birthday to you, sir,” while Regina Chukwu added, “Broda ni aunty.” Adunni Ade simply wrote, “Happy birthday, Egbon.”
Other notable messages came from Bimpe Akintunde, who said, “More of God’s blessings, Baami! Congratulations on your new age, sir,” and comedian Woli Arole, who commented, “Egbon autheee.” Actor Mike Ezurounye also joined in with, “Happy birthday, Broda.”
Several industry figures including Ayo Olaiya, Iyabadan Sneh, Itele, Olayinka Solomon, Fausat Balogun, Debbie Shokoya, Joseph Momodu, and Shola Kosoko also sent heartfelt wishes, describing Ademola as legendary, blessed, and deserving of celebration.
This is not the first time Muyiwa Ademola has used his birthday to reflect deeply on life. Last year, he prayed for increased inspiration, wisdom, creativity, and financial growth to continue contributing meaningfully to the movie industry.
The actor has previously opened up about his humble beginnings, recalling how he grew up in a slum without electricity, slept on a mattress throughout high school, and never celebrated birthdays until he turned 25.
In recent years, Ademola has remained relevant both spiritually and professionally. In 2023, he announced plans to revive his iconic film Ori with a new project titled Ori Reloaded, revealing that he invested over N400 million into the production and appealed to Nigerians for support. He also publicly apologized to colleagues he unintentionally excluded from the film’s premiere.
As he celebrates another year, Muyiwa Ademola’s story continues to stand as a testament to resilience, faith, and steady growth.
