Mercy Johnson Prevented Me From Getting Movie Role – Doris Ogala

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has made fresh allegations against her colleague, Mercy Johnson, claiming that the popular actress once prevented her from being cast in a movie at the height of her career. 

Ogala opened up about the incident while reacting to the recent arrest of fellow actress Angela Okorie, revisiting events she said occurred in 2012.

According to Ogala, the issue began when actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri approached her for a role in a movie project. 

She explained that Kadiri later informed her that Mercy Johnson was unwilling to appear in any film that included her. Ogala alleged that Kadiri conveyed Mercy Johnson’s stance directly, stating that the star insisted she would not participate in the production if Ogala remained part of the cast.

Recounting the moment, Ogala said the revelation deeply affected her emotionally. She disclosed that she broke down in tears upon hearing the claim, describing the experience as heartbreaking at a time when her career was gaining significant momentum. 

The actress added that the situation became so overwhelming that Ruth Kadiri’s mother reportedly prayed for her, encouraging her and reminding her that she was not condemned.

Ogala further revealed that she reacted by reaching out to Mercy Johnson personally. She said she obtained Johnson’s phone number and called her to confront the issue directly. 

According to Ogala, the conversation turned heated, and she admitted to expressing her anger during the exchange. She claimed that since that confrontation in 2012, she and Mercy Johnson have not met face-to-face again, except for indirect connections through industry-related matters.

The actress also referenced more recent controversies involving Regina Daniels’ brother, Sammy, noting that it marked one of the few moments the long-standing tension resurfaced in public discussions. However, she did not provide further details about how the issue reconnected them indirectly.

Ogala’s claims have sparked reactions across social media, with fans and industry observers sharing mixed opinions on the matter. 

While some sympathized with her and expressed surprise at the allegations, others urged caution, noting that the claims represent only one side of the story.
