Nollywood actress Bimpe Akintunde has responded firmly yet gracefully to a hurtful comment from an online troll, following widespread reports about the collapse of her marriage barely a year after it began.
The Yoruba actress, who has remained largely private about her personal life in recent months, found herself targeted by a social media user who mocked her failed relationships and motherhood in a harsh comment left on her page.
The troll wrote:
“Wasila Coded olobo giveaway. Only the dùmb people will believe you. First man left you with a baby, the 2nd left you with a baby. The 3rd is coming, we see what you will tell us then oloriburuku obirin ofo.”
Rather than engaging in a direct verbal exchange, Akintunde chose a subtle but pointed response. She shared a video of herself dancing to “Kokan E,” a song by Saotyarewa, whose lyrics encourage letting God be the ultimate judge of human affairs.
Reacting through the post, the actress wrote:

Her response quickly drew support from fans who praised her composure and refusal to descend into online hostility.
The actress’s reaction comes against the backdrop of confirmed marital troubles between her and her husband, Yousuph O. Ganiyu. Reports of their separation began circulating last year after Ganiyu shared a cryptic post about marriage and emotional well-being.
“The worst prison in the world is a home without peace and respect,” he wrote at the time, urging people to be mindful of who they choose as life partners.
Further observations revealed that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted all photos featuring one another. It was also noticed that Ganiyu had been conspicuously absent from Akintunde’s pregnancy-related posts and videos following the birth of their daughter.
The marriage reportedly ended not long after the couple welcomed their first child together, a baby girl.
Bimpe Akintunde’s relationship with Ganiyu had initially attracted public attention in June 2023, when she married him in a Nikai ceremony after years of being single. At the time, she openly acknowledged that her husband already had two wives but expressed gratitude for their union.
She revealed that Ganiyu had admired and loved her long before they formally met, describing their marriage as a blessing she was thankful for.
The unexpected breakdown of the marriage, therefore, came as a shock to many of her fans, especially considering the joy and optimism that surrounded their wedding.
