Popular TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has announced that he is postponing his plans to attend university, barely days after publicly celebrating his admission to study law at a private university in Lagos State.

The internet personality made the revelation during a live session on TikTok, where he spoke candidly about the reasons behind his sudden change of mind. According to Peller, enrolling in school at this point in his life would significantly affect his income, something he is not ready to compromise.

Explaining his decision, the content creator admitted that the reality of sitting in class for long hours without making money became frustrating for him.

“Guys, I swear to God, I remember I said I am going to school… I am not going again. I am not going again,” he said during the live session.

Peller further explained that his time is directly tied to his earnings, and spending several hours in lectures without financial returns did not sit well with him.

“I just remember, I was inside class for four hours. I didn’t make any money. I will write, I will look, I will play, not making anything. God forbid. I am not doing that one again,” he said.

Beyond the financial aspect, Peller also pointed out that he felt uncomfortable in the school environment due to the age difference between him and his classmates. He described himself as the youngest person in the class and said the experience made him feel out of place.

“When I enter the school, I notice that everyone is old, I am the only young blood there,” he added.

The TikTok star went on to suggest that he might consider returning to school much later in life, when he feels more settled and less pressured by financial responsibilities.

“So I need to go old. Maybe when I clock like 30, 40 years, I will now go to school. Please cancel everything. I am tired,” he said.

Peller’s announcement marks a sharp reversal from his earlier excitement after securing admission into a law programme. At the time, he had proudly shared the news online, addressing critics who had often mocked him for his educational background.

In response to those criticisms, Peller had expressed satisfaction at proving doubters wrong, stressing that formal education does not define intelligence or success.

“Everyone has been criticising me for not being educated, as if I’m the first person who didn’t attend university. Now, all of you should leave social media, because I’m in school,” he had said.

He also celebrated his choice of course, confidently declaring his new status as a law student.

“I’m now studying law. You can see it, right? You can’t mess with me anymore. I know the law,” he added.

Peller’s rise to fame on TikTok has been driven by his consistency, viral content, and ability to monetise his online presence. Like many digital creators, his income largely depends on frequent engagement, live sessions, brand deals, and content creation, which can be difficult to balance with the demands of full-time academic study.

His decision has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans supporting his honesty and prioritisation of financial stability, while others have encouraged him not to abandon education entirely.

For now, Peller appears focused on growing his brand and maintaining his income, leaving the door open to returning to school at a later stage in life when circumstances feel more favourable.
