Nollywood stars have paid heartfelt tributes to their colleague, late actress Allwell Ademola, following her final burial in Lagos.

The veteran actress, who passed away at the age of 49, was laid to rest on Friday after a series of memorial events that began with a Service of Songs and a candlelight vigil. Family, friends, and industry colleagues gathered to honour her life and legacy, marking the end of a journey that left a deep imprint on Nollywood.

Actress Toyosi Adesanya shared her reflections on the loss, describing her grief as a period of sober contemplation. She used her tribute to remind her colleagues about the importance of prayer and cherishing life while it lasts.

“Still in the sober reflections of Princess Allwell Ademola’s death. I had a rethink of so many things since yesterday, and when she was laid to rest today. Prayer is the food of departed souls. Even while alive, prayer has to be the most paramount to us all. To all my industry people and the entertainment world at large. We will not mourn over ourselves in our prime again. To Princess Allwell’s family, Orun ati yin ninu. To our esteemed fans, both at home and abroad, God will keep watching over us. To all burial planning committee members. A oni. Foju sunkun Ara wa (Amin). Rest on, Apeke Allwell Ademola Eniobanke,” Adesanya wrote.

For actor Muyiwa Ademola, missing the burial in person added another layer of sorrow. He reflected on the fragility of life and the inevitability of death, emphasizing the need to cherish every moment.

“It’s a final Goodbye, Couz! The saddest part is my not being in the country to witness your final journey back home! Your death is just another painful reminder that tomorrow is never promised! Each day we live is deducted from the days we would live on earth; each birthday we celebrate takes us closer to our final birthday! May we live long, amen. Sun re o Omo Oba EniObanke Ademola, bami ki baba mi Awofe Ademola, ki Uncle Adetokunbo Ademola. O digba o! O di gbere!” he posted.

Folorunsho Adeola also shared his grief, expressing his unwavering affection for the late actress and praying for her eternal rest.

“Goodnight ENIOBANKE. Rest peacefully, beloved sister. May ALMIGHTY GOD hold you close, and may your soul find eternal rest. Until we meet again, you will always be remembered, always cherished, and never forgotten. Love you always, my big baby,” he wrote.

Fellow actress Regina Chukwu lamented that Allwell would not see the completion of their collaborative work on the movie Aarin. She expressed her heartbreak over the unfulfilled plans and dreams they had shared.

“Allwell, you didn’t wait for the concluding part of Aarin. Allwell, we had plans. Allwell, this wasn’t what we discussed. Allwell! Allwell!! Allwell!!!” Chukwu posted emotionally.

Jamiu Azeez, another industry colleague, prayed for Allwell’s soul, urging her to journey peacefully and reflecting on the inevitability of death.

“Journey well, Eniobanke, may ur beautiful soul rest with the angels. Till we meet to part no more. A quick reminder that every soul shall taste death, let’s continue to take life simply as tomorrow isn’t promised,” he wrote.

Allwell Ademola, fondly known as Apeke, had a prolific career as an actress, director, and writer. She touched countless lives with her performances and mentorship in Nollywood, leaving a legacy celebrated by fans and colleagues alike. Her untimely passing has reignited conversations about valuing life, relationships, and the importance of prayer, as expressed poignantly by those who mourned her.

The tributes, filled with sorrow, love, and reflection, underscored the profound impact Allwell Ademola had on the Nigerian film industry and the enduring place she holds in the hearts of those who knew her.
