Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has finally found relief after weeks of tension surrounding a copyright dispute that affected her YouTube film, Where Love Lives. The actress shared the good news with fans on social media, expressing gratitude and joy after the issue, which temporarily disrupted the film’s monetisation, was successfully resolved.
Taking to her Instagram page on Monday, Ademoye reflected on the emotional toll the experience took on her while thanking those who stood firmly by her side throughout the ordeal. At the top of her appreciation list was her mother, colleagues within the industry, and her fiercely loyal fan base, popularly referred to as her “cyber family.”
In an emotional post, the actress credited divine intervention and persistence for the positive outcome.
“God don’t play about me, that’s how I know he’s real. I want to say a very big thank you to my mother @uduakisong1 for not resting till the issue was resolved. I love you forever mom. To @ugoccie and her team, thank you for standing by me and helping out. @sir.fela thank you for always helping to make sure things are resolved,” she wrote.
Ademoye also showered praise on her fans, noting that their collective effort played a major role in bringing the situation to a close. According to her, supporters consistently reported the fake account involved until the content in question was removed across all platforms.
“And most importantly! to my Amazing cyber family! Haa you guys, una no dey carry me play o. You guys reported Emmanuel Davies till the song got taken down on all platforms. I’m kicking my feet in the air like a little child. It’s giving play with her and you’d incur the wrath of her cyber family. I love you guys so much,” she added.
The copyright controversy began after an individual using the name Emmanuel Davies allegedly uploaded a song from Where Love Lives onto various streaming platforms, falsely claiming ownership as the composer. Despite Ademoye having full rights to the soundtrack—with the original artist’s consent—the unauthorised upload reportedly triggered a copyright strike on her official YouTube channel.
The development led to the temporary demonetisation of Where Love Lives, a film released in December 2025 that stars Uzor Arukwe, Chioma Nwosu, and Osas Ighodaro. At the time the strike occurred, the movie had already amassed millions of views, making the situation both financially and emotionally distressing for the actress.
Before the dispute was resolved, Ademoye had openly spoken about the strain it placed on her mental and emotional well-being. She had also hinted at pursuing legal action against those responsible, describing the experience as exhausting.
“Pls if you encountered me yesterday and I wasn’t smiling, no vex abeg, life and Emmanuel Davies tried me. Anyways we’re still working on getting Emmanuel Davies (it’s a fake name by the way). Thank you sooooo much guys,” she wrote earlier.
In another heartfelt message, she revealed how deeply affected she was by the ordeal.
“I love you guys! A very huge thank you to everyone who reached out to me and tried to help. If I didn’t pick your calls, pls don’t be offended, just the word ‘hello’ had me in tears, and my head was banging from crying. I love and appreciate you guys deeply,” she shared.
With the dispute now settled and the infringing content taken down, fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry have praised Ademoye for her resilience and determination. Many commended her for standing her ground against what they described as an abuse of copyright systems, while others celebrated the power of community support in resolving such challenges.
The resolution marks a positive turn for the actress, who continues to build her reputation not only as a talented performer but also as a filmmaker willing to defend her creative work.
