The Yoruba movie star, who recently emerged as the Vice President of the South West zone of the guild, shared highlights from the inauguration ceremony and expressed deep appreciation to those who supported her journey to leadership.
Dayo Amusa’s emergence as a key executive member of the AGN comes after months of active campaigning and engagement within the industry.
Last year, the actress publicly declared her intention to contest for the position, emphasizing her passion for strengthening the guild and creating more opportunities for actors.
While canvassing for votes, she reflected on her previous role as Vice Chairman of the AGN Lagos State chapter, where she outlined several contributions she made to the development of members and the improvement of welfare initiatives.
According to her, her motivation has always been driven by a desire to pave the way for others and put sustainable structures in place.
Her victory in the election was welcomed by many colleagues who commended her dedication and consistency within the guild.
Taking to her Instagram page to announce the good news, Dayo shared a photo of her certificate of office, confirming her new role as AGN Vice President for the South West.
The actress later posted a video capturing moments from the inauguration ceremony, giving fans a glimpse into the event attended by key stakeholders in the Nigerian film industry.

I want to say a Heartfelt Thank You – Grateful for Your Support and Looking Forward to Our Shared Journey!”
Her message resonated with many fans and colleagues who flooded her comment section with congratulatory messages and prayers for a successful tenure.
Industry observers believe her leadership experience and strong connection with actors across the South West will play a crucial role in promoting unity and progress within the guild.
Dayo Amusa’s inauguration comes amid a series of notable appointments within the Actors Guild of Nigeria over the past two years. In 2024, acclaimed actress Rita Dominic was appointed as the Director of Investment Business Development at the AGN, a move that was widely celebrated across Nollywood.
Around the same period, actors Deyemi Okanlawon and Uche Elendu also received appointments, with Uche serving as Special Adviser on SDG Goals and Deyemi taking on the role of Director of Planning and Strategy.
Caroline Danjuma was also named Director of AGN Investment, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to give back to an industry that shaped her career.
Veteran actress Rita Edochie was appointed Women’s Leader and Welfare Officer, pledging to serve diligently and uphold the values of the guild.
With her new position, many expect Dayo Amusa to continue advocating for actors’ welfare, professional growth, and stronger collaboration within Nollywood.
Her supporters remain optimistic that her tenure will bring meaningful impact and foster unity among members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
