A young girl identified as Anu Adeleke, who claims to be the alleged daughter of Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has sparked widespread reactions online after publicly requesting a DNA test to establish her identity.
In a heartfelt New Year message shared on social media, Anu opened up about her childhood struggles, academic journey, and emotional pain, while respectfully asking the award-winning singer to agree to a DNA test. The post, dated January 15, 2026, was shared from Ibadan, Nigeria, and has since gone viral across social media platforms, drawing mixed reactions from fans and Nigerians at large.
In her emotional statement, Anu wrote:
“I am a bit late ⏰ into the 15th day of the month but I’ve been busy getting back to school after the holidays with family and friends. This year I become a teenager…”
She went on to detail how she was allegedly bullied from a young age after claiming Davido as her father, saying:
“I was bullied in school since I was 6 years old and cried home daily. Other students laughed at me when I told them my father was Mr David Adeleke.”
According to Anu, the experience took a toll on her mental health, leading her to seek professional help. Despite the challenges, she stated that she excelled academically and even became a class prefect.
Explaining her reason for going public, Anu emphasized her desire to establish her identity as she grows older. She respectfully appealed directly to Davido, writing:
“However on that note as I transition into a young woman, I am respectfully asking Mr David Adeleke Singer @davido for a DNA 🧬 test to establish my identity. This test is between my dad and I. It is something I want. It is something that’s the right thing to do.”
She added that she had also reached out privately, saying:
“Please sir, consider my request once you read this post. I also sent it to your DM.”
In appreciation of public support, she concluded:
“Thank you to all Nigerians who have given me emotional support for the last 7 years. This DNA 🧬 test is the right thing to do for me.”
As of the time of this report, Davido has not publicly responded to the request. The development has continued to trend, with fans and observers calling for privacy, compassion, and a peaceful resolution.
