Nigerian billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has announced a generous financial reward package of up to $1 million for the Super Eagles following their impressive performance at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Rabiu, who is the Chairman and Founder of BUA Group, made the announcement after Nigeria secured a convincing 2–0 victory over Algeria in the quarter-final stage of the tournament.

The win booked the Super Eagles a place in the semi-finals and reignited hope among Nigerian football fans.

In a statement shared on his official Instagram page on Saturday, the business mogul praised the players for their determination and resilience on the pitch. He described their performance as inspiring and said it had lifted the spirit of the nation.

“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria,” Rabiu wrote. “You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals.”

He went further to outline performance-based financial incentives for the team as they progress in the competition. According to Rabiu, the Super Eagles will receive $500,000 if they win their semi-final match. In addition, he promised $50,000 for every goal scored during the semi-final encounter.

The incentives become even more significant if Nigeria goes on to lift the AFCON trophy. Rabiu pledged a total reward of $1,000,000 should the Super Eagles emerge champions, with an extra $100,000 for each goal scored in the final.

He concluded his message by encouraging the players to remain focused and continue representing the country with pride. “Wishing you continued success as you carry Nigeria forward. Keep making Nigeria proud. Proudly Nigerian,” he added.

Nigeria’s quarter-final victory came on Wednesday at the Stade de Marrakech, where the Super Eagles dominated Algeria with confidence and discipline.

Victor Osimhen opened the scoring shortly after halftime before providing an assist for Akor Adams, who doubled Nigeria’s lead before the hour mark.

Osimhen’s all-round performance earned him the Man of the Match award. Speaking after the game, the Napoli striker played down individual praise and highlighted the collective effort of the squad.

“For me, I just did my job,” Osimhen said. “I tried to fight for the team and to get goals or assists, but the whole squad deserves praise.”

The Super Eagles will now face host nation Morocco in the AFCON 2025 semi-final. The highly anticipated clash is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 9:00 p.m., at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

With national pride at stake and substantial incentives on the line, Nigerians will be hoping the Super Eagles rise to the occasion and take another step toward continental glory.
