The long-running controversy surrounding the paternity of Anu Adeleke has resurfaced once again, following a detailed and emotional statement released by her mother, Ayo Labinjo. In the statement, Labinjo addressed renewed public attention on the matter, firmly denying several claims made about her and raising serious concerns about her daughter’s mental health.
Opening her message, Labinjo clearly stated: “Good evening, we are heading to bed now. First things first, my name is Ayo Labinjo. I’m NOT Davido’s baby mama or a btch.” She explained that her primary concern has always been protecting her daughter, Anu, from emotional harm, especially after what she described as years of intense bll*ying.
According to Labinjo, the impact on her daughter was severe. “My daughter cried for days, fainted in school and went through psychotherapy,” she revealed, emphasizing the toll the controversy has taken on Anu’s mental and emotional well-being.
While acknowledging that the story had resurfaced globally, Labinjo noted that she believed the family had largely moved on. However, she alleged that singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, had ignored her for years based on assumptions about her background. “David Adeleke has largely ignored me for years because he thought he picked up a prsttute from GQClub in Ibadan. I was a waitress and not picked up on the streets. I come from a good home,” she said. She also referenced her late father, describing him as “a good man who worked for the betterment of Nigeria before he was pisned.”
Labinjo described Anu as “a very tech-savvy, intelligent achiever” and stated that she deliberately keeps her circle small to shield her daughter from unnecessary scrutiny. She expressed shock that Anu began trending on X (formerly Twitter), allegedly because of comments made by her father. “To my shock, she was trending on X because her dad needed to call me a b*tch that he’s never met, yet he subjected himself to a DNA test 5X?”
She further revisited earlier DNA test controversies, accusing Davido’s legal representation of misleading the public. “Last time it was his lawyer, Bobo Ajudua, who brainwashed Nigerians that there were two tests done and I chose the hospital,” she claimed. Labinjo alleged that a laboratory test conducted in 2014 was compromised, stating: “Dr. Deji Adeleke took us to a LAB, not a hospital, where Anu’s blood was drawn in 2014, then discarded behind our backs and a fake result was printed.”
Naming individuals allegedly involved, Labinjo added that “Wale Sobola was the lab technician who masked as ‘Dr Alex’,” and referenced a public confession made years later regarding the discarded blood sample.
Despite the controversy, she stressed that the fight is not hers alone. “I’m not fighting for my daughter. My daughter is fighting for her identity.” Labinjo also accused Davido of recently contacting Anu directly. “David chatted my daughter tonight, threatening to lock me up, cursing Anu and repeatedly bllying her,” she alleged.
Citing Davido’s U.S. citizenship, Labinjo announced plans to escalate the matter. “I will request the US State Department to contact the Embassy in Lagos or Abuja to help us supervise and witness a clean, independent DNA test.”
She concluded with a firm message condemning harassment: “My daughter did not beg to be here. Saying you’ve never met me or telling your family that I was a prsttute is wrong. Bllying my daughter is WRONG 😔.”
The renewed statement has reignited public debate online, with many calling for transparency, accountability, and sensitivity toward the child at the center of the controversy.
