Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has reacted strongly to circulating reports alleging that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) denied any involvement in the $800,000 lawsuit he reportedly filed against his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

The controversy stemmed from a publication by Punch, which claimed that an EFCC spokesperson informed the court that the agency had “no evidence” linking Jude Okoye to the fraud allegations mentioned in Peter’s petition. The report quickly spread across social media, prompting mixed reactions from fans and observers.

An X user drew Peter’s attention to the viral story by tagging him and asking whether he was aware of the purported new development. In a swift response, the singer dismissed the entire narrative as “propaganda” and “a joke.”

Peter further clarified the situation on his Instagram story, insisting that the claims were completely fabricated. According to him, the widely referenced court session “never took place.” He described the report as a deliberate attempt to tarnish his image and mislead the public. Emphasizing that online narratives should not be mistaken for legal truth, he stated firmly: “Social media is not a judge.”

In a more pointed reaction written in Pidgin English, Peter posed a rhetorical question suggesting accountability from those involved: “Una thief abi una no thief?” The line immediately sparked conversations online, with many interpreting it as a direct challenge to the parties allegedly spreading misinformation.

The longstanding rift between Peter, Paul, and Jude Okoye dates back to the breakup of P-Square, during which Peter accused Jude of misconduct. His recent legal action reportedly revived old tensions, drawing both criticism and support from fans.

Meanwhile, social media users weighed in:

@deltastatemayor wrote: “He’s now quick to call it propaganda and jokes yet credible media agencies are publishing it…”

@damianbriel added: “Peter show us evidence.”

Others urged the brothers to resolve their issues privately, noting that the feud has dragged on for years.
