Controversial Nigerian street-hop star, Portable, has sparked a fresh wave of online drama after publicly calling out Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, who happens to be the son-in-law of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo. The outspoken artist took to his Instagram page to express frustration that Juma Jux visited Nigeria and recorded a song with his colleague, Ekunrawo, without his knowledge.
In a video and caption shared online, Portable claimed he felt disrespected, insisting he should have been included in the collaboration. He further demanded that Juma Jux and Ekunrawo “find space” for him on their new track titled Halima, arguing that his contribution would elevate the song’s reach.
Portable wrote:
“So @juma_jux enter Naija do song with my bro @officialekunrawo and nobody tell me… e don set ooo, una must find space for me for this HALIMA song.”
He added that the song is titled Halima, performed by Ekunrawo featuring Juma Jux.
His outburst quickly became a trending topic, with fans flooding the comment section to weigh in. Many social media users urged Juma Jux to avoid working with Portable, especially because of past controversies involving Portable and Juma’s mother-in-law, Iyabo Ojo.
One user wrote, “Portable leave us alone o, na beg we dey.”
Another added, “Portable na Lizzy brother, no near them.”
A follower reminded him of past conflicts: “You forgot you have abused his mother-in-law.”
While some rejected the idea entirely, a few admitted that Portable’s presence could generate attention. As one fan noted, “Funny enough, Portable would give this song the publicity it deserves. Please let’s hear the remix with you in it.”
Others fiercely objected:
“God forbid, I rebuke you for Juma,”
and
“I forbid you in Juma’s life.”
The drama has reignited debate about Portable’s bold approach to securing collaborations and whether shock value still plays in his favor.
