Tunji Adeleke, a cousin to Afrobeats global star Davido and the Chairman of the Osun State Local Government Service Commission, has sparked online conversations after narrating an unpleasant experience at a popular Lagos nightlife destination, BOHO Lounge.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Tunji recounted what he described as a deeply frustrating night at the upscale club. According to him, what was supposed to be an evening of relaxation and fun quickly turned sour after he allegedly lost a luxury bracelet valued at approximately $23,000 during his visit.
The incident, which he said left him upset and disappointed, triggered reactions from social media users, some of whom shared contrasting experiences at the same lounge. Responding to a user who claimed they enjoyed partying at BOHO, Tunji issued a cautionary message to nightlife enthusiasts and clubgoers in Lagos.
He warned that while patrons might enjoy the atmosphere and entertainment offered at the venue, they should also be mindful of potential risks, stressing that a good time could easily turn into “huge losses.”
Beyond the alleged loss of his expensive jewelry, Tunji also raised concerns about how the club’s security team treats guests. He accused BOHO’s security personnel of acting aggressively, claiming that people were pepper-sprayed before being allowed entry into the club. This allegation has since fueled debates online, with many questioning safety practices within Lagos nightlife establishments.
Clearly unhappy with the entire experience, Tunji expressed strong dissatisfaction with the lounge’s management and overall handling of guests. He ended his remarks by stating unequivocally that he would never visit BOHO Lounge again, a statement that further intensified reactions across social media platforms.
The incident has once again brought attention to issues surrounding security, customer experience, and safety in Lagos’ vibrant nightlife scene. As conversations continue to trend online, many Nigerians are calling for better regulation, improved security conduct, and accountability from nightlife operators to ensure patrons can enjoy themselves without fear of loss or mistreatment.
