The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has once again captured public attention after heart-melting videos of the monarch and his first son with ex-wife, Queen Naomi Silekunola, Prince Tadenikawo, surfaced online.
The touching clips, which have been trending across social media platforms, have renewed conversations about the monarch’s emotional bond with both his son and former queen.
In one of the viral videos, recorded shortly after Tadenikawo’s 5th birthday celebration, the revered monarch was seen carrying his son as he bid Queen Naomi farewell. The warm moment between the Ooni, his son, and the boy’s mother stirred deep emotions among Nigerians, with many interpreting the gestures as signs of lingering affection for Queen Naomi.
Another clip showed young Prince Tadenikawo holding on to his father’s staff of authority while showering heartfelt prayers on the Ooni. Social media users quickly began sharing their reactions, with several insisting that the Ooni’s expressions showed he still holds deep affection for his former wife. Reactions online have been intensely emotional, with many openly advocating for reconciliation.
