Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola Salako and her husband, Kayode Salako, have reportedly gone their separate ways after more than a decade together, according to multiple sources close to the couple.

The development, which has sparked conversations online, comes amid claims that the marriage had been facing serious challenges for a long time.

 Sources allege that the separation is not recent, as the couple is said to have been living apart for nearly a year, despite maintaining a united front in public.

Insiders claim that Kayode Salako has since relocated to be with his first family, while Foluke Daramola is reportedly in a new relationship based in Abuja. However, neither party has publicly confirmed the separation as of the time of this report.

Further revelations suggest that the decision to keep the situation away from public scrutiny was deliberate. 

According to sources, political considerations played a role in the secrecy, as Foluke Daramola is believed to be nurturing ambitions to contest for a political position in Oshodi, Lagos. Close associates reportedly felt that public drama surrounding her marriage could negatively affect such aspirations.

Despite their alleged separation, the actress and her husband have continued to appear cordial whenever they are seen together, creating the impression that all was well. 

However, those close to the couple insist that the relationship had long broken down, with both parties choosing privacy over public confrontation.

Foluke Daramola’s marriage has often attracted public interest over the years, particularly due to controversies surrounding her husband’s polygamous background. 

In previous Instagram posts, the Yoruba actress had addressed issues regarding Kayode Salako’s first wife, explaining that she met her husband through civil means and had no prior knowledge of his existing marriage at the time.

She also revealed that she had never met or spoken with his first wife and maintained that Kayode’s previous partner left of her own free will. 

Responding to accusations that she snatched another woman’s husband, Foluke stated that while her husband is a polygamist with children from different women, she remains his only legal wife.

In one emotional post marking his birthday, she admitted that their union had its rough moments but insisted they always resolved their differences, famously describing their 13-year marriage as feeling like “13 days.”
