Nigerian hip-hop superstar Ice Prince Zamani has ignited a major conversation across social media after voicing his increasing fears about modern marriage.

 The award-winning rapper revealed that the troubling marital experiences he observes around him are making single men—especially those nearing 40—more anxious about settling down. His comments have since fueled widespread debate on emotional maturity, marital expectations, and relationship instability in today’s society.

According to Ice Prince, marriage in the present generation is becoming “scary,” as he constantly hears unsettling stories that make the idea of long-term commitment feel risky. He referenced a close friend who got married in 2024 but is already battling serious marital issues. The situation has deteriorated so badly that the man allegedly “doesn’t even pick his wife’s calls anymore and wants out.”

These experiences, Ice Prince explained, reflect a larger pattern of unresolved personal issues, emotional baggage, and lack of preparedness among couples. He stressed that before involving someone’s daughter or sister in marriage, men must first evaluate themselves, work on personal growth, and achieve emotional stability.

Sharing his thoughts on social media, he wrote:

“Every day, something new pops up that makes this whole marriage thing look scary… My guy who married in 2024 doesn’t even pick his wife’s calls anymore and wants out.”

Addressing single men approaching 40, he added:

“Yo, single fellas approaching 40, what’s going on? What’s the update? What are we doing?”

He then issued a strong warning on self-awareness before committing to marriage:

“My brother, examine yourself well before telling someone’s daughter or someone’s sister that you want to be the ‘head coach’ in her life. Cleanse yourself first and be honest with yourself.”
