Media personality Toke Makinwa is basking in the sweetness of motherhood as she revealed how the birth of her son has completely changed the way people address her.
The popular TV and radio host, who welcomed her first child in August 2025, shared that she now carries a new identity wherever she goes one that brings her joy, pride, and a deeper sense of connection to her baby boy.
According to Toke, who posted the revelation on her social media platform, she has quickly transitioned from being known as “TM,” a name her fans and industry colleagues had called her for years, to being addressed simply as “Mama Yaya.”
The nickname stems from her son’s pet name, Yaya, and has now become a widely accepted moniker among family, friends, fans, and even strangers who spot her in public.
Toke expressed how pleasantly surprised she is by the speed at which her new title has spread. “No one calls me TM anymore,” she wrote with a mix of excitement and humour.
“Everywhere I go, it is ‘Mummy Yaya’… Omo mi so mi l’oruko tuntun,” meaning “My child has given me a new name.” For her, the shift represents more than just a change in name it is symbolic of a new phase of life, one filled with warmth, responsibility, and profound joy.
The actress and lifestyle entrepreneur recently dedicated her baby in church, a ceremony that was attended by close friends and family members.
