Nigerian influencer and entrepreneur Sophia Momodu, who is also widely known as the mother of singer Davido’s first daughter, Imade Adeleke, has sparked fresh conversation online after issuing a firm public service announcement regarding her daughter’s safety at children’s events.
Taking to her Instagram story, Sophia Momodu addressed individuals and event hosts who frequently send out invitations for kids’ parties, playdates, and social gatherings while placing restrictions on adult supervision. According to the fashion content creator, she will not allow her daughter, Imade, to attend any event where her parents or a nanny are not permitted to be present.
In her strongly worded statement, Sophia emphasized that safety, supervision, and comfort are her top priorities when it comes to her daughter. She made it clear that invitations with rules excluding guardians will be automatically declined.
She wrote:
"PSA: Any kiddies party or play date, etc, that I see ‘no nanny’ or ‘no parents’ etc allowed on the invite. Don’t even bother wasting your invite. Don’t just worry. Thank you."
This direct message immediately generated reactions from parents and fans online, many applauding her for maintaining firm boundaries regarding her child’s welfare. Some social media users agreed that children should never be left in unfamiliar spaces without trusted supervision, while others argued that most kiddies parties prefer to restrict adults for crowd control.
Regardless of the debates, Sophia Momodu’s stance remains unchanged. She reiterated that Imade’s safety is non-negotiable, and any event that attempts to dismiss parental presence is not an environment her daughter will participate in.
Her announcement reinforces her long-standing image as a protective and involved mother, further highlighting discussions around child safety, parenting boundaries, and responsible event hosting in Nigeria’s social scene.
