As Nollywood approaches 2026, the industry is once again gearing up to deliver a fresh wave of films that promise to entertain, challenge, and captivate audiences.
FilmOne Entertainment has unveiled its 2026 lineup, offering a mix of commercial blockbusters, experimental storytelling, and deeply emotional narratives that reflect the versatility of Nigerian cinema.
From dramas to musicals, from comedies to character-driven stories, the slate promises to keep viewers eagerly anticipating each release.
The year opens with “Everything Is New Again”, set for release on January 30, 2026. This age-gap romantic drama is a collaboration between Inkblot Productions and FilmOne Studios, exploring themes of love, timing, and rediscovery.
The film continues the successful partnership between Inkblot and Filmhouse Group, building on the success of previous projects like KAVA. The story’s exploration of unconventional romance sets the tone for a year of fresh storytelling in Nollywood

Next up is “Love & New Notes”, arriving on February 13, 2026. Directed by Kayode Kasum and starring Timini Egbuson, this Valentine’s release dives into modern romance against the vibrant backdrop of Lagos.
The film promises laughter, heartbreak, and the unmistakable energy of young love, offering a cinematic experience that blends the poetry of romance with the city’s fast-paced lifestyle.
On February 27, 2026, audiences will witness “Mothers of Chibok”, a poignant documentary directed by Kachi Benson.
Revisiting the 2014 abduction of schoolgirls in Borno State, the film amplifies the voices of the mothers who tirelessly searched for their daughters, highlighting resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
The documentary is expected to be a powerful reminder of courage and determination, cementing its place as one of Nollywood’s most socially significant projects of the year.
March brings “A Fisherwoman’s Dream” (March 6, 2026), directed by Laju Iren, which tells a story of hope, faith, and destiny through the eyes of a determined woman.

May 29, 2026, sees the release of “Iya Mi”, a heartfelt drama honoring motherhood, sacrifice, and generational love. While details remain scarce, it is one of the most anticipated local stories, expected to resonate deeply with audiences.
Undated projects include the highly awaited “Prophetess 2”, reuniting Toyin Abraham with Anthill Studios for another round of comedy and magical prophecies, and “Ilu”, a Yoruba epic led by Femi Adebayo exploring heroism and moral dilemmas.
FilmOne also plans “Lagos Big Boy”, a high-energy comedy highlighting the extremes of Lagos life, and “The Smart Money Woman”, Arese Ugwu’s cinematic adaptation exploring love, money, and empowerment in modern Lagos.
With this ambitious and diverse lineup, Nollywood is set to enter 2026 with bold storytelling, powerful performances, and innovative cinematic techniques, reaffirming its position as a dynamic and evolving film industry.
