Nollywood actress Ashabi Olorisha has opened up about the controversial actions of actor Yomi Fabiyi’s colleague, Baba Ijesha, claiming that the actor is aware of the crimes he was imprisoned for and has a history of misconduct abroad.
In a candid statement, Olorisha recounted her personal experience with Baba Ijesha, revealing how she once covered for him while in England. She said, “Baba Ijesha and I used to be very close. Baba Ijesha has done series of what he was accused of, abroad.
There was a particular case that I was the one that covered up for him when I was in England. He came to England and needed an accommodation. I took him somewhere to stay. Baba Ijesha, you know what you did there. I had to be begging because the woman's husband was one of our big boss in the industry.”
Ashabi Olorisha warned Yomi Fabiyi that his support for Baba Ijesha could have serious consequences, stressing that more evidence of the actor’s past wrongdoings could surface. “Yomi, you are putting Baba Ijesha in more trouble because people will start bringing out evidence. Baba Ijesha has done this thing to a lot of people. Yomi, you can give him an accommodation or take him for rehabilitation to get himself back,” she added.
Her revelation has reignited the conversation around accountability and rehabilitation in Nollywood, highlighting the need for actors to take responsibility for their actions. The actress’s comments have sparked reactions across social media, with fans discussing the ethical responsibility of actors, the culture of covering up misconduct, and the importance of proper rehabilitation.
This statement by Ashabi Olorisha could have far-reaching implications for both Baba Ijesha and Yomi Fabiyi, as the industry continues to grapple with allegations of misconduct and the need for transparent justice.
