Nigerian socialite and entertainment mogul, Cubana Chief Priest, has raised concerns over a deleted message sent to him by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu.
The message, which Chief Priest shared as a screenshot, reportedly followed the life sentencing of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu.
In his communication, Chief Priest had previously warned President Bola Tinubu that he would not secure 10,000 votes from the South East in the 2027 elections if Nnamdi Kanu remained in detention. He urged the President to either appeal the judgment or prepare to face consequences in 2027.
Sharing his reaction to the deleted message, Cubana Chief Priest stated:
"Woke Up To See That The Deputy Speaker Wrote Me By 7:08 AM & Then Deleted It. I’m Worried, I’m Scared, I’m Shivering, But Yet I’m Fearless Because I Know My Name Is Chibuike !!! Sir, If You Come For Me, God Will Embarrass You. Face Your Work & Do It Well. If I were to Be Deputy Speaker, I Would Do Better Than You."
He continued to highlight the personal impact of Nnamdi Kanu’s detention on his life:
"I Relocated To Lagos Because Of MNK Detention. Till Tomorrow, My Son Donald Keep Saying I Miss Owerri & He Is So Excited We Are Going Next Month. I have Built A Country Home In My Village Since Six Years. I Was Just Able To Visit There Two Weeks Ago To Meet My People In Poverty After Five Years Because Of The Detention Of MNK. Businesses in Southeast have crashed, And That’s where I Have My Major Investments & Peace Of Mind. I’m Wounded Already, I’m In Pain. E No Get Wetin You Wan Do Me Wey Go Pass The Pain Inflicted Already. I Miss Home."
Cubana Chief Priest also offered advice to the Deputy Speaker, urging him to focus on the development of the South East rather than party politics:
"If I Were in Your Position, I Would Fix Southeast. I Will Unite Governors, I Will Summon Ministers, I Will Assemble The Whole Elites & I Will Secure Peace For Our Southeast. That Same Way Wey You Dey Take Dress Well On Our Igbo Attire, Dress Our SouthEast Well Like That, That Same Way Wey You Dey Take Package Your Convoy, Package Our Southeast Well Like That. You Are A Very Smart, Stylish, Young, & Clean Guy. Please Apply That To Your Governance. Remove Your Eye From Party Politics & Save Southeast."
He concluded with a strong call to action:
"Time Is Going We Go Soon Meet For Street After Your Tenure If You No Change Your Way & We Go Remember For You Say You Once Had Opportunity. Still, You Did Not Achieve Anything For Us. Use Your Position To Bring Peace To Southeast We Go Use Our Hand Make You Governor, The Only Way Is To Let MNK Come Home To Fix What He Spoilt By Himself. I Love You, No Vex For Me Baba I Dey Vex I Wan Go My Village Go Do My Own Detty December, Lagos Wey Dey Dry For Dec. Before Na Him Dey Bubble Now For December. Dem No Born Us For Lagos We Have A Home. What Is Southeast Development Commission? When We Can’t Go Home. No Fight Me Oh !!! This is not the first time Cubana Chief Priest has addressed national issues. During the Benue killings, he appealed to President Tinubu to ban open grazing across Nigeria, emphasizing the severe damage it caused to local communities and livelihoods.
