A tragic discovery has thrown Ogun and Osun States into mourning as a 39-year-old senior officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Funmilayo Oluwamayokun Lasisi, and her young daughter, Sewa Lasisi, who were declared missing on November 2, 2025, have been found dead under horrifying circumstances.
The mother and daughter were reportedly located at an herbalist’s den in Osun State with their bodies brutally mutilated, sparking outrage and renewed calls for accountability from both the public and the FRSC community.
According to early investigations, the victims were last seen in Ogun State before their mysterious disappearance triggered widespread concern. Family members reported them missing when all attempts to reach them failed.
The shocking breakthrough came when security operatives traced suspicious activity to the residence of a known herbalist in Osun State. Upon arrival, officers were confronted with the gruesome reality of what appeared to be a ritual murder scene, with the bodies of the FRSC officer and her child found dismembered.
The alleged herbalist, who is now the prime suspect, has reportedly fled the community. However, his wife was arrested at the scene and is currently in police custody assisting with the investigation. Authorities have vowed to track down the fleeing suspect and ensure that justice is served.
The FRSC unit in Abeokuta is said to be in deep mourning, describing Funmilayo as a dedicated officer whose life was cut short in an act of “unimaginable wickedness.” Her family, still grappling with unbearable grief, is demanding a thorough investigation and swift prosecution of everyone connected to the heinous crime.
This incident has revived conversations around ritual killings in Nigeria, security failures, and the urgent need for stronger community surveillance to protect vulnerable citizens. Nigerians across social media have expressed shock and anger, calling for justice for Funmilayo and her daughter.
