Nollywood actress Ruth Kadiri has publicly shown solidarity with her colleague, Regina Daniels, following the actress’s recent allegations of domestic violence in her marriage to politician Ned Nwoko.
In an Instagram post, Ruth praised Regina for her generosity and support towards others, writing:
“You celebrate and support everyone as much as you can. You will forever be celebrated. Love you @regina.daniels.”
Last week, Regina had revealed in a viral video that she was facing domestic violence in her home, tearfully stating that she is not treated like a queen in her husband’s house.
Ned Nwoko, in a public statement, attributed the marital tension to what he described as Regina’s “battle with drugs and alcohol abuse.” He claimed that his efforts to help her seek professional treatment were consistently resisted. He also accused Regina of violent behavior, alleging she assaulted three domestic staff and damaged property.
Other celebrities have weighed in to support Regina. Actress Yvonne Jegede advised her, saying, “If domestic violence is violence, leave.” She further encouraged Regina not to allow “bitter and jobless internet trolls” to bully her, emphasizing that there is no excuse for domestic violence.
Singer Portable also expressed support, praying for the actress’s home and urging her to stay loyal: “Only a loyal wife enjoys life more.”
Actress Georgina Onuoha criticized Ned for publicly shaming Regina, stating, “Within less than 24 hours, he released a statement portraying his wife and the mother of his children as a drug addict. The decision to respond in such a public, humiliating manner raises serious questions. What responsible man or husband publicly shames the mother of his children?”
Meanwhile, Prince Kpokpogri, Tonto Dikeh’s former boyfriend, called out those celebrating the couple’s troubles. Reflecting on his own messy breakup with Tonto, he urged Nigerians to uplift others instead of rejoicing in their hardships.
Investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo shared claims that Ned told her he was not home when Regina allegedly damaged cars and windows in his house. She further alleged that the actress slapped two nannies and her own driver, while also using drugs.
