Nigerian beauty entrepreneur Adeola Adeyemi, popularly known as Diiadem, has stirred online reactions after calling out Nollywood actress Biola Bayo over a childhood incident that left a lasting impression on her.

The drama unfolded on Instagram after Biola Bayo posted a public service announcement complaining about the rising cost of asoebi among her colleagues. Diiadem commented under the post, recalling a moment from her childhood when she followed her stepmother to a movie set where Biola was present.

According to Diiadem, Biola allegedly asked her to clean her shoes in a tone she described as condescending and disrespectful.

Diiadem clarified that her pain was never about the act of cleaning the shoes but the demeaning tone used towards her as a child. “It was not about cleaning the shoes; it was about how you spoke to me,” she recounted. “Even though I was just a child, that memory stayed with me all these years.”

Biola Bayo, however, appeared to dismiss the revelation, reacting with laughing emojis and claiming the incident was not serious. Responding in Yoruba, she wrote, “E ma tun gba mi ke!! Ewo tun ni shoe cleaner bayi,” loosely translated as, “Don’t start again! What’s this about shoe cleaning now?”

Her response angered Diiadem, who criticized the actress for failing to take accountability. “It costs nothing to be kind,” Diiadem stated. “If I were in her position, I would have reached out privately to apologize.”

The beauty mogul emphasized that the incident haunted her for years, replaying in her mind whenever she saw Biola on screen. She concluded her post powerfully, saying, “He who is tired has forgotten, he who is not able to take it forever. It’s not about the shoe cleaning; it was about how nasty you were to me. I said what I said!”

The exchange has since ignited widespread reactions online, with fans debating kindness, accountability, and the long-term impact of childhood experiences.
