Nollywood star Regina Daniels has opened up about the deepening turmoil in her marriage to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko, revealing her determination to raise her children on her own while pleading with Nigerians to stop attacking her mother, Rita Daniels.
The actress took to her official Facebook page in the early hours of Wednesday to share a heartfelt video, breaking her silence on the controversy that has dominated social media for weeks. In the emotional clip, Regina spoke candidly about her family’s struggles and how the situation has affected her emotionally.
“I am finally in front of the camera trying to explain my family’s problem,” she began, her tone calm but heavy with emotion. “It’s 5 a.m. in the morning, and I haven’t slept because I can’t. My family is actually in turmoil. It’s crazy, but we will come out of it.”
Regina explained that the courage to speak publicly came from the overwhelming love and support she has received from her family, especially her mother and siblings, who have stood by her through the ordeal.
“What gave me the courage to make this video is that my family—my mom, my brothers, everybody—is fighting for me,” she said. “My brother just started a petition, and in less than how many hours, a lot of people have signed it. That means it means something. This video shouldn’t even exist in the first place.”
The actress, who appeared visibly strong despite her emotional tone, directed a message to her estranged husband, stating that she was ready to take full responsibility for her children’s upbringing, with or without his support.
“I am going to fight for my children, Ned,” she declared. “I tried to be calm, I tried to let go, but I will fight for me. I will take them, I will raise them with or without your support. And you know I will do it, my love, ex-husband.”
Regina also acknowledged that her video might appear staged or dramatic to some viewers, but she emphasized that everything she said came from a genuine place of pain and truth.
“This feels like I am acting, but guys, this is me,” she continued. “If I haven’t slept by 5 a.m., tell me why everyone else is moving on? I am not going to cry, oh—they don’t use to do that in front of the camera. I like this video; it means I am tough, and I am not crying.”
Before ending her message, the actress passionately appealed to fans and critics to stop targeting her mother, who has faced online backlash over her daughter’s marital troubles.
“The main essence of this video is, please, stop insulting my mom, please,” she pleaded. “She has done nothing wrong. My mother has always stood by me, protected me, and loved me unconditionally. Whatever is happening now has nothing to do with her decisions.”
Although Regina avoided directly addressing the cause of her marital issues, several reports have suggested that her relationship with Senator Ned Nwoko has faced serious strain in recent months. Allegations of domestic violence and substance abuse have surfaced, further fueling public speculation about their split.
Despite the challenges, Regina’s message conveyed strength and resolve. Her tone suggested that she is ready to face whatever comes next for the sake of her children and her peace of mind.
The actress’s heartfelt confession has since attracted massive reactions online, with many fans expressing empathy and urging her to prioritize her well-being. Others commended her for standing up for her family and showing emotional maturity amid public scrutiny.
Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko married in 2019, a union that sparked national debate due to their significant age gap and Nwoko’s polygamous status. The couple share two sons together, and until recently, they often appeared inseparable at public events.
However, with this latest development, it appears that Regina is ready to move forward independently, focusing on rebuilding her life and protecting her children from the chaos surrounding their family.
Her closing words in the video summed up her current state of mind: a woman determined to stay strong despite the storm.
“I’m not going to let this break me,” she said softly. “I’ll keep standing tall for my kids, for my mom, and for myself.”
