Fear has gripped the Isapa community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State after armed men launched a coordinated night attack, carting away women, children and other villagers.
Witnesses said the heavily armed group — estimated at about 20 to 30 men — stormed the area while trailing a large herd of cattle. The intruders reportedly fired shots into the air as they advanced, causing panic among residents. An elderly woman was hit by a stray bullet during the shooting.
A community elder confirmed to National Pilot that 11 individuals were taken, including seven members of a single household.
The kidnapped victims were named as Talatu Kabiru, Magaji, Kande, Hadiza, Mariam, Saima, Habibat (housewife), Fatima Yusufu (housewife), Sarah Sunday (pregnant woman), Lami Fidelis (nursing mother), and Haja Na Allah.
According to locals, the gunmen escaped through the dense bush routes linking Eruku to nearby settlements, leaving behind a terrified community struggling to come to terms with the invasion.
This incident adds to growing concerns in the region, coming just days after bandits attacked the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) and abducted 38 worshippers — all of whom have since regained their freedom.
