Nigerian human rights activist and lawyer Barrister Deji Adeyanju has publicly appealed to popular TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, to prioritize formal education amid ongoing criticism of his English language errors during live streams.

The call comes as Peller's viral content continues to draw mixed reactions, with fans loving his humor but detractors mocking his frequent grammatical mistakes.

In a strongly worded statement shared on social media, Adeyanju emphasized the transformative power of schooling for young influencers like Peller.

"Peller should go to school. Education will shape his life and destiny. Let me suggest that he considers a degree in law but he must get a credit in Literature in English first," the barrister advised, highlighting how academic credentials could elevate Peller's career beyond social media fame.

Adeyanju's plea stems from Peller's recent live sessions where mispronunciations and poor sentence structures have sparked debates online.

Supporters argue that Peller's authentic street-style English endears him to millions, amassing over 5 million TikTok followers through skits and collaborations with celebrities like Davido.

However, critics, including education advocates, insist that basic literacy skills are essential for long-term success in Nigeria's competitive digital space.

The activist, known for championing youth empowerment, believes a law degree could suit Peller's charismatic personality, potentially turning him into a media-savvy advocate. Yet, he stressed the prerequisite: mastering Literature in English to build a strong foundation in communication.

This advice aligns with broader conversations about celebrity education in Nigeria, where stars like Portable and Naira Marley face similar scrutiny.Peller, who rose from humble beginnings in Oyo State, has not yet responded publicly, but his team hints at upcoming projects that may address personal growth.

As influencer marketing booms in Africa, experts say formal education could help talents like Peller secure endorsements, avoid controversies, and inspire followers.

Adeyanju's intervention has ignited discussions on the role of schooling for Gen Z creators. Will Peller heed the call and enroll in university? Only time will tell, but the message is clear: education remains a game-changer for destiny.
