Nollywood actress Georgina Onuoha has publicly called for Senator Ned Nwoko to step down from his official position following serious allegations made against him by his estranged wife, Regina Daniels.
Taking to her Instagram page, Georgina described the allegations as “grave and deeply disturbing,” insisting that they go beyond family disputes and require urgent, unbiased investigation.
She emphasized that the accusations ranging from sexual coercion and forced imprisonment to drug enabling are criminal in nature and must not be ignored or downplayed.
“Regina Daniels, you have said enough, child. Now get a lawyer and plead your case. The senator has the right to defend himself equally,” she wrote. “The allegations against Senator Ned Nwoko by his estranged wife, Regina, are not family matters but criminal offenses that must be investigated transparently and without bias.”
Georgina further called for the Nigerian Police Force, the Ministry of Justice, and both local and international human rights organizations to step in, stressing that justice must not be compromised by power or influence.
“Senator Nwoko must step down immediately from his official position to allow for an independent and impartial investigation,” she declared. “Justice must not be for sale.
Power must not be used as a weapon of oppression. The Nigerian government and its institutions are on trial before the eyes of the world.”
Her statement has since sparked massive reactions across social media, with many Nigerians praising her courage for speaking out against alleged abuse of power and calling for accountability regardless of status.
In an earlier post, Georgina had expressed disappointment over how Ned Nwoko publicly released a statement labeling Regina Daniels a drug addict within 24 hours of their fallout. She said such a public response from a sitting senator raises serious questions about judgment and sensitivity, particularly when a young woman’s safety and reputation are at stake.
The controversy has also drawn reactions from other Nollywood stars. Actress Anita Joseph condemned Ned Nwoko for “bullying” Regina’s family, urging him to release Sammy, who was allegedly detained.
“Marriage is not by force,” Anita said, reminding the public that everyone has a right to leave an unhealthy relationship.
Similarly, Precious Chikwendu, the ex-wife of former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode, questioned where the Actors Guild and those close to Regina were during her ordeal.
She lamented that Regina was too young for such trauma, describing Ned’s alleged actions as “narcissistic and vicious.”
Actresses Mary Njoku, Ruth Kadiri, and Yvonne Jegede also shared emotional messages of support for Regina Daniels, expressing heartbreak over her distressing social media posts and urging her to prioritize her safety.
As public scrutiny intensifies, Georgina Onuoha’s call for accountability highlights a growing demand for justice and transparency in Nigeria’s political and entertainment circles.
