The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has officially confirmed the arrest and arraignment of Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, the elder brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
This confirmation follows days of public speculation, family tension, and social media outrage surrounding Sammy’s detention.

In a statement released on Friday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, revealed that Sammy’s arrest stemmed from a petition filed against him and three others, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.

According to Adeh, despite multiple invitations for questioning, Sammy repeatedly failed to appear before the police.
She stated:

“Upon receiving the petition, multiple invitations were sent to Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu, which he failed to honor. Consequently, the police obtained a valid court warrant for his arrest.”

Armed with the warrant, police operatives arrested Sammy in Lagos and transferred him to Abuja for further investigation.
Following the completion of the investigation, Sammy West was arraigned in court on November 6, 2025.

The court ordered his remand in custody pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions, which remain unmet at the time of this report.
The development has sparked renewed conflict between Regina Daniels and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, whom the actress accuses of orchestrating her brother’s arrest.

Both Regina and her siblings have used social media to condemn the situation, describing it as a form of intimidation and emotional blackmail. Her other brother, Sweezy Daniels, announced plans to return to Nigeria, saying he is ready to face arrest. Their mother, Rita Daniels, also alleged that efforts are underway to have her detained as well.

Amid the family’s distress, Regina Daniels made an emotional revelation on Instagram, hinting that she might consider reconciling with Senator Ned Nwoko if it would help secure her brother’s release.

The mother of two lamented:
“His only offence was standing up for me when I needed protection.”
Expressing disappointment in the Nigerian legal system, Regina continued:
“I once had so much respect for our law enforcement agencies, but I feel deeply let down.”

The situation continues to unfold, with fans and industry colleagues calling for justice and transparency in the handling of Sammy West’s case.
