Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has come to the defence of her younger colleague, Regina Daniels, following a fresh wave of troubling allegations made by Regina’s estranged husband, Ned Nwoko. The drama between the couple intensified after Nwoko reportedly made startling claims during a casual gathering in Abuja, accusing the actress of mixing alcohol with drugs in the same hotel they were staying in at the time. He further alleged that he had “police evidence” to support his assertions.
Nwoko also recounted an incident in which Regina allegedly blocked the entrance of a hotel using her vehicles and subsequently summoned him to send the Commissioner of Police to the hotel premises so that no one inside could leave. The unfolding scandal quickly drew widespread attention, prompting several reactions within and outside the entertainment industry.
Etinosa, who took to social media to weigh in on the matter, sharply criticized Nwoko’s remarks. She urged him to stop bringing up personal issues publicly and allow Regina to move on with her life, describing his comments as immature and unnecessary.
Reacting, she wrote: “Regina Regina Regina. Na wa o. Try move on, single father, this is very childish and totally uncalled for.”
Her statement immediately sparked conversation online, with many applauding her for standing up for Regina at a time when tensions appear to be escalating between the estranged couple.
Just days earlier, Ned Nwoko had released an official statement insisting that he does not want Regina to return to his home. He claimed his primary concern was her well-being and reiterated that she must seek therapy due to alleged drug influence, stressing that anything she says about him under such conditions is untrue. His comments came after Regina issued a strong warning to him, threatening to expose details about murder cases, land disputes, fraud allegations, and more. She insisted that he should leave her alone, further accusing him of introducing her to drugs, including ecstasy (Molly), supposedly to enhance their intimate life. According to her allegations, the substances made their sexual relationship “wild” and helped her cope with acts she considered forceful.
The public dispute between the couple resurfaced last month when Regina accused Nwoko of domestic violence. In response, the politician attributed her claims to what he described as her ongoing struggles with substance abuse. Nwoko maintained that he had repeatedly attempted to get her professional help, but his efforts were resisted or undermined.
In a recent interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Nwoko restated his concerns, explaining that his intention was for Regina to receive rehabilitation so she could remain “alive and healthy” – not just for herself but also for their children. He expressed his desire for their kids to grow up in a stable environment and blamed some of Regina’s friends and siblings for sabotaging attempts to help her. According to him, certain individuals in her circle encouraged her harmful habits by allegedly bringing drugs into his home, sometimes forcing their way in despite his opposition.
Nwoko publicly mentioned names such as Sonia and Uche Montana, accusing them of enabling Regina’s drug use while defying his directives. Their actions, he said, further complicated efforts to get Regina into rehabilitation.
As the public exchanges continue, Etinosa’s intervention adds another layer to the unfolding controversy, with many Nigerians closely watching how the situation develops and whether reconciliation, accountability, or legal actions will follow.
