Veteran entertainer and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has weighed in on the growing controversy surrounding the marriage of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko.
In a recent video shared on his official Twitter page, the outspoken singer expressed concern over the couple’s decision to discuss their private issues on social media. He noted that by doing so, they were indirectly portraying themselves as either victims or saints, a move he described as unnecessary and damaging to their public image.
According to Charly Boy, personal disputes between couples, especially those in the public eye, should be handled with maturity and privacy. He cautioned that bringing such matters online only invites public judgment and ridicule, while also worsening the situation.
“Why are you both bringing your private matter to social media to form a victim of a saint? Ned, as an elder, you ought to know how to handle things better. Truly, age isn’t about wisdom; clout is not the cure for chaos,” he said.
The veteran entertainer further advised Ned Nwoko, who is much older than Regina, to act with the experience and composure expected of an elder statesman. He stressed that age does not automatically translate to wisdom and that fame or influence cannot resolve domestic disputes.
Charly Boy emphasized that as public figures, the couple should be mindful of their actions, as anything shared online quickly becomes a subject of public debate and misinterpretation. According to him, “Your marriage dey experience some wahala, pls try and sort it out privately. No point in washing ur dirty business on social media. Abi wetin you think?”
He went on to highlight that social media often magnifies problems rather than solves them, as online users tend to take sides, spread misinformation, and create unnecessary drama. Instead, he urged the couple to find ways to communicate directly and seek reconciliation privately, away from the public eye.
The singer’s remarks have since sparked conversations among fans and followers, with many agreeing with his stance on keeping marital issues off social platforms. Others, however, pointed out that public figures often face scrutiny because of their celebrity status, which sometimes makes it difficult to avoid public attention when personal matters arise.
Charly Boy, known for his unfiltered opinions on social and moral issues, has consistently advocated for privacy, emotional intelligence, and mutual respect in relationships. His message to Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko, though direct, reflects a broader concern about how celebrity couples handle their personal lives in the age of social media.
He concluded his remarks by reminding both parties that marriages thrive on understanding, communication, and discretion—not on public sympathy or online validation.
As discussions around the couple’s alleged marital troubles continue to trend online, Charly Boy’s advice stands as a reminder that not every issue needs to be played out before an audience, especially in matters of the heart.
