A fresh wave of rumours swept through social media on Wednesday after claims emerged alleging that Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy had dismissed his mother, Bose Ogulu, from her role as his manager. The viral report, which quickly gained traction across multiple platforms, prompted widespread speculation among fans and entertainment observers. However, Burna Boy’s sister, Nissi, has now publicly denied the rumour, dismissing it outright as false.

The controversy began when ChaftsAfrica, a popular entertainment page, circulated what it described as a screenshot of an Instagram story supposedly posted by Burna Boy. The alleged post suggested that Bose Ogulu, widely known and respected as “Mama Burna,” was no longer managing her son’s career. The claim rapidly spread, fueling online conversations and triggering reactions from fans who were shocked by the prospect of Burna Boy parting ways with his mother — a key figure in his professional journey.

Shortly after the report began trending, an X (formerly Twitter) user identified as @Joyfultips amplified the rumour by writing, “Just heard Burna Boy fired his mom, this whole thing is getting crazier.” The post added more fuel to the already spreading narrative, drawing mixed responses ranging from disbelief to concern about Burna Boy’s current career trajectory.

However, the rumour was swiftly shut down by Burna Boy’s sister, Nissi, who is also an artist and creative professional. Responding directly to the viral claim, she quoted the post on X and stated in clear terms that the report was not true. In her brief but emphatic response, she wrote: “FAKE NEWS.” Her reaction immediately cast doubt on the authenticity of the circulating screenshot and the claims made in connection to it.

Nissi’s rebuttal has since eased the tension among fans, many of whom expressed relief knowing that the long-standing and successful professional relationship between Burna Boy and his mother remained intact. Bose Ogulu has been instrumental in shaping Burna Boy’s global success, navigating his career through multiple awards, international tours, and collaborations. News of her alleged dismissal naturally stirred concern within the music community.

The false report surfaced at a time when Burna Boy was already the subject of intense social media scrutiny, particularly related to issues surrounding his U.S. tour. Earlier in the week, it was reported that the singer’s “No Sign of Weakness” tour had faced setbacks, including cancellations tied to alleged low ticket sales. This development had generated significant attention, with many fans and commentators speculating about the possible reasons behind the tour adjustments.

With the rumoured firing now debunked, observers believe the situation highlights the increasingly fast spread of misinformation in the digital age, especially concerning celebrities. Nissi’s quick dismissal of the claim served as a reminder of the importance of verifying information before sharing or reacting to it.

For now, Burna Boy’s camp has not issued a formal statement, but Nissi’s direct response stands as the clearest indication that Mama Burna remains firmly in place as her son’s manager, despite the rumours suggesting otherwise.
