Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay, formerly Annie Idibia, has shared a deeply emotional note dedicated to her mother, expressing gratitude for her unwavering support through every season of her life.
In the heartfelt tribute, Annie described her mother as “so demure… so beautiful,” and celebrated her for standing by her side during her lowest, weakest, saddest and happiest moments. While acknowledging that her mother may not be flawless, she stressed that, to her, “she’s PERFECT to and for me.”
The actress, who was previously married to music star 2Baba, praised her mother for everything she does for her and her children — from daily sacrifices to selfless acts that often go unnoticed by others but never by her.
Annie wrote that she remains grounded and resilient despite life’s storms because of her mother’s powerful prayers. She also vowed to help her fulfil every item on her bucket list.
Her appreciation post read in part:
“I L O V E Y O U M O T H E R
So Demure…
So Beautiful”
She continued:
“I’m feeling all sorts of emotions… thinking of all the many ways she has been there for me… She ain’t perfect (no one really is) but she’s PERFECT to and for me.”
Addressing her affectionately as “Sista,” Annie added:
“Thank you for all you do for me and my kids… All the sacrifices you make every day… not one of them has gone unnoticed… I see you every day.”
Speaking further, she highlighted how mothers often go uncelebrated, declaring her mother “the best grandma in the whole entire world.” She promised, “Sista, I will do my best to make sure you tick all ur bucket list by His grace.”
Annie credited her strength to her mother’s intercessions:
“I’m still standing here firm through all the loud n quiet storms because of the strength n power of my mother’s prayers… My mama’s name na GRACE, I’m a child of GRACE!”
She ended with a pledge to continue making her mother proud.
Last year, Annie reflected on her mother’s difficult past while responding to Kelly Rowland’s emotional story about her own mom. She revealed that her mother endured even tougher challenges, but “Grace found her.” At the time, she vowed to give her mother a soft life and take her around the world as a reward for her resilience.
In a separate post, the actress also offered prayers for mothers everywhere, sharing a meme of a struggling mom and asking God to strengthen every woman working tirelessly for her children.
