Abuja is set to host the highly anticipated Miss Africa International 2025 pageant on December 6, 2025, at the Center Point Event Centre, promising an event that goes far beyond glitz and glamour.

The pageant’s founder and organiser, Anita Igoni, revealed that this year’s edition will place emphasis not only on beauty but also on Africa’s rich cultural heritage and the inspiring stories of its participants.

“Miss Africa International 2025 is not just a pageant; it is a celebration of Africa’s diversity, elegance, intelligence, and strength. Through this platform, we honour African women and showcase to the world that our continent’s beauty is as deep as its heritage,” Igoni said.

She added that the pageant was conceived to recognise more than outward appearances, highlighting the intelligence, resilience, and leadership qualities of young African women.

“Our goal is to help young women find their voice and use it to advocate for education, entrepreneurship, and social change,” Igoni explained, stressing that the platform serves as a springboard for women who want to make a tangible difference in their communities.

Over the years, Miss Africa International has attracted contestants and audiences from across the continent, with participants representing countries from West, East, Central, and Southern Africa. Each contestant is evaluated not only on poise and elegance but also on their commitment to humanitarian causes, social advocacy, and leadership potential.

According to Igoni, the 2025 edition will feature a unique blend of cultural celebration and advocacy. Contestants will showcase their countries’ traditional attires, perform cultural dances, and present their personal initiatives aimed at addressing social issues.

“We want to demonstrate that African women are multidimensional. They are not only beautiful but also intelligent, compassionate, and socially responsible. The event is a chance for the world to see that Africa’s future is being shaped by women who are capable, visionary, and impactful,” she said.

The pageant will include a range of activities leading up to the grand finale, including talent showcases, community engagement projects, and workshops focused on leadership and entrepreneurship. Organisers believe these experiences help prepare contestants for life after the pageant, equipping them with skills that extend beyond the stage.

Despite the economic challenges facing many countries in Africa, Igoni remains optimistic about the pageant’s impact and future. She praised her dedicated team and supportive sponsors for ensuring that the event continues to thrive and make a difference.

“My biggest motivation is seeing how far our queens go after the show. Watching them grow into changemakers across various sectors is what keeps me going,” she added, noting that many former titleholders have gone on to pursue careers in business, education, activism, and public service.

This year’s pageant is expected to draw an audience of dignitaries, fashion enthusiasts, philanthropists, and media personalities from across Africa and beyond. With a focus on cultural richness, elegance, and empowerment, Miss Africa International 2025 aims to leave a lasting impression both on the stage and in society.

Igoni emphasised that the pageant is a platform for promoting African unity and showcasing the continent’s diversity to the world. “We are not just celebrating beauty; we are celebrating African women who are committed to creating positive change. Each contestant’s story reflects courage, determination, and the drive to uplift others,” she said.

With the countdown to December 6 underway, excitement is building for what promises to be a spectacular celebration of African women, culture, and impact. Organisers have assured that the 2025 edition will set a new standard for pageantry in Africa, combining elegance, cultural pride, and social responsibility in a way that resonates far beyond the final night.
