Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has celebrated her senior colleague, Peju Ogunmola, as the veteran actress makes an emotional return to work months after losing her only son, Ayomikun.

Peju Ogunmola, in a heartfelt video shared via her Instagram page, reflected on her painful journey in recent months, describing them as “heavy.”

She expressed deep gratitude for the love, prayers, and condolences she received from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers, noting that their support helped her through one of the darkest periods of her life. The actress revealed that she is now rising stronger, ready to embrace her passion for acting once again.

In response, Wumi Toriola reposted the video on her Instagram page, hailing Ogunmola as “a strong woman and more.” She commended her resilience, courage, and determination to return to her craft despite the emotional weight of her loss.

“Your strength and resilience is everything. Returning to your craft with courage and determination is a testament to your unbreakable spirit. I celebrate you, ma,” Wumi wrote.

Kemi Filani recalls that in September, Peju Ogunmola lost her only son, Ayomikun, after a brief illness in Ibadan. The family’s spokesperson, Yemi Amodu, released an official statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding his death and debunking false reports.

Ayomikun was buried shortly after his passing, and the family requested privacy during their mourning period.

Ogunmola’s strength in the face of tragedy has earned her immense admiration within the industry. Many of her colleagues and fans flooded her comment section with supportive messages, describing her as an embodiment of grace and perseverance.

Her story mirrors similar tragedies faced by other Nigerian entertainers in recent years. Actor Francis Duru lost his son, Ifeanyi, last year after a long illness.

Comedian Aphrican Ace and his wife also suffered heartbreak when their newborn son died just a day after birth. Similarly, skitmaker Olagunju Solomon Olamide (Akika) announced the death of his young son on Father’s Day in 2023.

Peju Ogunmola’s return to acting marks a new chapter  one defined by strength, healing, and passion. Her comeback serves as an inspiration to many within the industry, proving that even in pain, art can be a powerful tool for recovery and renewal.
