Afrobeats star Zlatan Ibile has revealed the inspiration behind his highly anticipated third studio album, Symbol of Hope, explaining that it reflects his journey from struggle to success.
In a candid interview alongside his son, Shiloh, Zlatan said the album’s title embodies the resilience and determination that fueled his rise to prominence.
“When I was growing up, I used to have people I looked up to. I saw people who made it from nothing to something. They used their talent, they hustled right, and got to the top,” he said.
Zlatan continued, “They were symbols that gave me hope. And now, a lot of people look up to me too — including you. I’ve become a symbol of hope to many.”
He also highlighted how his early struggles, particularly the difficulty of affording three meals a day, influenced the album’s themes and messages.
“When I was young, it was really hard to eat three times a day. The life experience influenced this album. It was like a process. I had to work hard. When others were sleeping, I had to motivate myself and tell myself that I want to be great,” Zlatan added.
Scheduled for release on October 17, 2025, Symbol of Hope is the product of two years of meticulous work, with Zlatan refining every track to ensure the album truly reflects his journey and message of perseverance.
