Nollywood actress and producer Yvonne Jegede is celebrating two remarkable decades in the film industry, marking 20 years since she began her acting career as a young and passionate 20-year-old.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the actress reflected on her journey in Nollywood, expressing gratitude to her fans, colleagues, and everyone who has contributed to her growth over the years. “I can’t believe that it’s been 20 years already! 20 years since I made my debut in the world’s 2nd largest movie industry: our own beloved Nollywood. 20 years of telling stories. 20 years of interpreting different roles. 20 years of taking on different personalities. Starting out as an innocent 20-year-old, I would never have known how much it would change my life,” she wrote.
Jegede’s career began in the early 2000s when she made her first appearance in the widely celebrated music video for 2Baba’s “African Queen,” which brought her into the limelight. From there, she transitioned into acting, starring in a variety of Nollywood films that showcased her versatility and natural talent.
